Kathleen leads Ollila’s global trademark prosecution and counseling practice. She has over twenty-five years professional and legal experience, with over ten years of experience in trademark law and other related disciplines of IP law.
Kathleen has been responsible for the management of large, international trademark portfolios of prominent companies, including Norgren, Oreck, Emerson, Hach, Jones International and Mountainsmith. She concentrates her practice in the areas of securing and enforcing trademark rights in the U.S. and internationally, developing strategies to maximize foreign and domestic brand protection, combating counterfeiting and knock-off products and coordinating worldwide enforcement efforts, including investigations and actions in the EU, Mexico and China.
Kathleen is experienced in trademark management strategies for creating strong brands, maintaining and protecting the brands in a cost effective manner, and utilizing enforcement methods, including demand letters, consent agreements, opposition and cancellation proceedings and litigation. She regularly assists clients, including Hershey Chocolate & Confectionery, in preventing Internet infringement by undertaking UDRP and DMCA actions.

Kathleen also has substantial experience in corporate law, including finance, mergers and acquisitions, corporate due diligence, securities law and regulatory compliance. She has professional and business experience, including as a successful business owner. She is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and Colorado. Kathleen received her J.D., with distinction, from Penn State Dickinson School of Law (1994), and has her B.F.A. from Louisiana State University, and has attended the WIPO Mediation and Arbitration training (2013 Seoul, Korea and 2014 New York).
